Jingzhou Tao to join Jones Day
International law firm Jones Day has announced that Jingzhou Tao will join the Firm’s Beijing Office as a partner. He comes to Jones Day from DLA Piper where he was the firm’s managing partner in Beijing.
Prior to joining DLA Piper in October 2005, Mr. Tao was the Managing Partner of Coudert Brothers’ China Practice. He was educated at University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), 1984 and Peking University Law School, 1982 and was admitted to practice law in China and Paris in 1989 and 1992, respectively.
He is the author of numerous articles in Chinese, English, and French on matters related to Chinese arbitration, foreign investment and foreign trade. Jingzhou is fluent in English, French, and Mandarin, and has written several books in English and French on Chinese law.
Mr. Tao has represented over a dozen Fortune 500 companies and many major European, Japanese, and American companies for their hundreds of investments in China, including the establishment of equity joint ventures, contractual joint ventures, and wholly foreign-owned enterprises, in addition to their business and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliance, and intellectual property protection matters.
